Health & Safety

The directors of the company, as employers, have a duty under the terms of the Health and Safety at Work etc; Act 1974 to ensure that as far as reasonably practicable the health and safety and welfare at work of all employees is assured.

The responsibility for health and safety matters lies with the Chief Executive. However, responsibility may be delegated to directors, managers and supervisors. All employees must take responsibility for health and safety as far as practicable.

The company will develop Policies and Procedures that recognise safe working practices and are structured accordingly. Those will be reviewed regularly and amended as necessary. Safety is the priority in every area of our operation and must not be compromised.

The company will maintain a Quality Policy and Procedures to ensure that Best Practice is employed at all times.

The company’s intention is to protect:-
a) all it’s employees and sub-contractors
b) others who may be affected by the activities of Flowfront Ltd;
c) the public transportation system including the railways above and below ground and highways.

By means of  ensuring that:-
a) the management are working to ensure that risk is minimised
b) systems are safe
c) access and egress are safe
d) training, communication, instruction and supervision are adequate
e) risk situations are properly managed
f) suitable arrangements are in place for safe handling, storage and transportation of goods and materials
g) arrangements for dealing with accidents and near misses
h) evaluation of competence take place and  steps are taken to ensure an appropriate level of competence in each employee.

Flowfront expects that its directors, managers, staff, employees and sub-contractors will comply with this policy and all other relevant policies and procedures.

It is a condition of their continuing employment with the company that they do so by:-
a) exercising reasonable care  for the health and safety of themselves and others who may be affected by their actions
b) cooperating with the company in its stated aims and its compliance with health and safety legislation
c) making safe use of systems implemented by the company to ensure health and safety
d) informing the company and other employees of any situation that presents an unacceptable level of risk to themselves, their colleagues and others
e) reporting any shortcoming in the protection of health and safety even if it does not present an immediate threat to safety.
f) being proactive in the promotion of safe working practices and reporting dangers and near-misses.
