UK Construction leaders hope to change the way the industry operates in the wake of one of the biggest challenges to the industry in recent times.
According to Construction Europe magazine, senior figures in the construction industry are proposing an action plan to improve efficiency and discuss ways that they can survive in difficult economic conditions and predict better times ahead for the construction and rail industry.
Those involved in the discussions have concluded that infrastructure clients should promote competition with suppliers and invest in lean production. The aim is to remove wasteful and inefficient processes all the way through the supply chain including planning, design delivery and management through each phase of infrastructure projects.
The report by Pinsent and Masons also predicts a stronger outlook for the construction industry in the UK particularly the rail, water and renewable energy. This of course means better news for rail recruitment and recruitment in related infrastructure industries.
